3rd Dan & Lead Instructor of East Riding Karate Club
Hello, I am Steve. A 3rd Dan Black Belt in a modern twist of Wado-Ryu sport Karate. I have earnt this grade over 13 years of dedication to the sport with Vulcan Sport Karate under the guidance and tuition of 7th Dan Clive Lee a well respected figure in our circles.
In conjunction with this training I have undergone extensive training in other martial arts classes and self defence systems which have been used in real life situations during my 7 year stint in the Police and 11 years in the Army.
I love teaching martial arts classes for children and adults, watching them grow in confidence and become warriors. I love teaching self defence as this is becoming more and more important within our society.
I keep my karate classes Fun and progressive to aid learning. When learning occurs, students flourish and grow.
Nunchaku & assistant instructor
Sophie is a student of East Riding Karate Club from the beginning and has been a keen enthusiast of Nunchaku for years. Sophie is a 7th Kyu. A junior grade in some respects. Sophie is always ready to step up and offer support for students who may suffer with social anxiety and shyness which is down to her role as a carer. Sophie will also take on the role as Nunchaku instructor in the future providing the children's karate classes in Hessle another exciting dynamic.
